Moonstar88 Celebrates 25 Years of ‘Torete’ with Free Anniversary Concert at Eton Centris
On May 24, 2025, Eton Centris lit up with music, nostalgia, and the unwavering spirit of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) as Moonstar88 celebrated a milestone that’s as iconic as their hit single—25 Years of “Torete.” The anniversary concert brought together longtime fans and new listeners alike for a free show featuring rising acts Betterdays and Hey June!, a special set by Alexa Ilacad, and a show-stopping orchestral performance by Moonstar88 with the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra.
Beyond the main stage, Eton Centris introduced a special experience: a busking zone called “Tadhana”, where emerging talents and independent artists took the spotlight. The area offered a more intimate musical encounter, creating a heartfelt space where fans could discover new voices and celebrate the evolving landscape of OPM. With acoustic performances and raw talent on full display, Tadhana served as a love letter to the future of Filipino music.
Moonstar88’s connection with Eton Centris runs deep—Just last year, they launched Lourdes 2088 at the Eton Centris Activity Center. Now, they’re back to celebrate a career milestone.
“It’s one of the most sincere and consistent venues when it comes to supporting OPM and bands like us,” they shared with heartfelt appreciation.
Their choice to hold their 25th anniversary concert at Eton Centris wasn’t just about the venue—it was about the memories built here and the people who keep coming back for more. With its accessible location right at the crossroads of EDSA and Quezon Avenue, Eton Centris has become a creative home for Filipino artists and fans alike—a venue where music, milestones, and shared memories come to life.
Moonstar88’s orchestral set added depth and drama to fan favorites like Torete, transforming familiar tunes into emotionally charged anthems. It was not just a performance—it was a celebration of 25 years of staying power, of connecting through songs that have become soundtracks to countless lives.
As Maychelle Baay once shared in a Billboard Philippines feature, the band’s bond and humility keep them grounded. “Friendships and our fans matter just as much... Our common values of humility toward the music industry and gratitude toward our fans keep us going.” That sentiment echoed throughout the night, felt in every chord, lyric, and cheer from the crowd.
Eton Centris wasn’t just a venue—it was part of a cultural celebration. Known for supporting Filipino music and homegrown talent, Eton Centris continues to champion OPM by giving artists a space to share their stories, connect with fans, and celebrate the music that defines generations.
