The celebration of the Holiday Season will not be complete without helping those in need that is why for this year, Dwellings by Eton responded the call for help from Hospicio de San Jose, as the COVID-19 pandemic affected the country’s oldest charitable institution.
In partnership with the Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Dwellings by Eton offered a helping hand by donating the much needed food supply particularly rice from Eton’s Masaganang Palayan Project and fresh vegetables harvested from the Dr. Lucio Tan Legacy Forest Project in Nueva Ecija, which also serve as sustainable sources of livelihood for poor farmers and indigenous people in the community served by the foundation.
Hospicio de San Jose declared a self-lockdown since March 2020 and it became stricter in April 2021. However, a second wave has stricken the institution forcing them to sought help. They have recorded a total of 120 COVID-19 cases, which include children and the elderly.
“We are very glad for the opportunity to respond to the call for support expressed by Hospicio de San Jose, as they continue to sustain the needs of 450 individuals affected by the COVID-19 surge within their compound. This is our small way to shed a light of hope this Christmas to the orphans, elders, staff and admin of the charitable institution. Let this season always remind them of God’s great love for us, especially those neglected by society,” says Maria Noellie T. Dela Rosa, Eton Properties Assistant Vice President for Residential Leasing.
